Following the phenomenal success of FLYING DREAMS in 2022, the Wintergarten Varieté has once more joined forces with the breakdancers and creative team of the Flying Steps to continue writing their shared story.

Wintergarten director Rodrigue Funke and Vartan Bassil of the Flying Steps, together with choreographers Jeffrey Jimenez and Amin “Amin Drillz” Mohammadian, have once again blended street style, breakdance, and the elegance of variety theatre into a unique mélange in the new show FLYING LIGHTS.

As the title suggests, the theme of light in all its facets serves as the connecting thread. The dancers and artists set the Wintergarten stage ablaze – both to pounding beats enhanced with fire and cutting-edge LED technology, and to live cello music that creates poetic moments of light and shadow.

Artistically, FLYING LIGHTS offers, as is tradition at the Wintergarten, top-class circus-like delights. Whether LED-club juggling with the Canaval Twins, Icarian games with the Segura Brothers, or 19-year-old recent graduate of the Berlin State School of Acrobats, Carla Rousavy, on the aerial straps – as always, the acrobatics are of the highest standard.

Geraldine Philadelphia finally returns to the Wintergarten with her hula hoops after a two-year guest engagement in Las Vegas, and rising talent Maxim Voronin will not only float magically across the stage as if by ghostly hands, but also make objects appear inexplicably while performing a one-armed handstand.

After the huge popularity of the motorcycle riders of VR Universal Drivers with their breathtaking loops inside the world’s smallest motorcycle globe (3.80 m in diameter) in the last production VARIETÉ GAGA, the Wintergarten has decided to present this act once again in FLYING LIGHTS—this time in an evolved version.

The international variety stars and the congenial, electrifying dancers of the Flying Steps – who will this year also thrill the audiences on America’s Got Talent – promise an action-packed evening that is sure to not only heat up the atmosphere, but also send the audience’s adrenaline levels soaring.

ATTENTION: During the show, strobe lighting effects are used in some parts, which may be unsuitable for people who are sensitive to light (e.g., those with photosensitive epilepsy) and may trigger seizures.
